Collins Steel Western Timecard Enduro Results
Round 4 of the Isle of Man ACU Centre Timecard Enduro Championship ran from the club’s own land at Carnagrie with special tests at Eairy Beg and Arrasey plantations.
Expert
Won by Max Ingham on board the Triumph after not the best pre-event preparations. Club chairman Craig Norrey took advantage of Max's less than ideal condition and took big chunks out time advantage in Eairy Beg test that Craig had planned and set out the route. Going into the final test of the day Norrey had a 13sec lead and looked set for victory but a hefty crash turned his advantage into a deficit of 23 secs. Bobby Moyer hit a tree stump in Arrasey so hard his footrest bolt was snapped and needed Al Heginbotham to come and deliver spare parts. Despite not leaving the start area whilst repairing his machine he managed to not drop time and finished third. Event sponsor Jack Collins took the headlight and mudguard off his KTM in Arrasey a test he was caught out by despite setting it out himself.
Clubman
A reduced field was won by Daniel Lane from teenagers Stanley Cubbon riding the family 1990's 125 Honda and Callum Christian on board a Yamaha 125. Ryan Davies ran out of fuel in the final test in Arrasey test but limped back to the finish after a 35min test. Harry Kampz returned to Carnagrie missing the peak of his helmet being caught out at Eairy Beg a test he also helped set out.
Veteran
Russ Millward convincingly beat Mike Turner fresh from the ISDE in Italy and out for a day’s riding.
Sportsman
Sam Wheeler suffered fuelling problems on his Sherco before the first test and was forced to retire. Early leader Ian Bailey returning to enduro for the first time in 10 years had a 55sec lead at the halfway point, but a failed throttle cable ended his day. David Watling took over the lead but dropped a minute on the final test and handed victory to MGP winner Si Fulton. Carl Wynne-Smythe returning from injury claimed the final podium spot ahead of MGP newcomer Wayne Avis and Phil Gunnell.
